Herbs in Action
Crampbark: Viburnum opulus is a flowering shrub native to Europe and parts of Asia and Africa. Crampbark eases tension and supports muscle comfort naturally. It helps calm and relax muscles, and is traditionally used to support women's wellness and comfort during monthly cycles.
Black Cohosh root: Actaea racemosa is most often used to ease cramps and menopausal discomforts such as night sweats, hot flashes, irritability, and sleep disturbances.
Wild Yam Root: Dioscorea villosa has been used in folk medicine since the 18th century to treat menstrual cramps and various discomforts. The root is most popular for its affinity for the female system, where it influences hormone balances to benefit discomforts associated with menstruation. Wild Yam may influence our hormonal system by supporting the reproductive/endocrine system through healthy inflammatory response and hormone pathways. It may ease menstrual cramps and aid with vaginal dryness in older women.
Catnip aerials: Nepeta cataria is a member of the mint family, and like other mints, supports optimal digestion and soothes upset bellies. In Cramp Release, Catnip provides a mild and gentle sedative effect that promotes a calm and relaxed nervous system.
Scullcap aerials: Scutellaria lateriflora extracts contain significant amounts of flavonoids, including baicalin and scutellarin, which are believed to be the active properties accounting for its ability to ease tension and spasms, and calm the body into a restful state.
Black Haw bark: Viburnum prunifolium is well-known for its affinity to ease spasms and for its use in calming menstrual cramps.
